Manchester City Thrash Brighton 4-0 to Tighten Grip on Title Race

Sublime Performance from Foden and de Bruyne

City Close Gap on Arsenal at the Top

Manchester City moved to within one point of Premier League leaders Arsenal with a dominant 4-0 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion at Amex Stadium. Despite missing the influential Erling Haaland due to injury, City produced a clinical and devastating display to keep their title hopes alive.

Kevin de Bruyne opened the scoring for the visitors in the 17th minute, capitalizing on a loose ball in the Brighton defense. Phil Foden doubled City's advantage just nine minutes later with a superb solo effort, leaving the Brighton defenders in his wake.

Foden then turned provider in the 34th minute, setting up Julián Álvarez for City's third. The Argentine striker finished calmly to put City firmly in control of the match.

Manchester City continued to dominate the second half, and they added a fourth goal in the 62nd minute through Álvarez. The young forward received a pass from Foden and slotted home his second of the game.

The victory was a statement of intent from Manchester City. They showed their resilience and quality in the absence of their star striker Haaland. With Arsenal facing a tough away match against Newcastle United on Sunday, City have a chance to close the gap at the top of the table even further.

The victory also highlights the impressive form of Foden and de Bruyne. Foden has now scored six goals in his last five Premier League games, while de Bruyne has been a key figure in City's recent resurgence.
